It’s a busy Friday night in Major League Baseball with all 30 teams scheduled to take the field tonight under the lights in their weekend series.  There are some young arms on display in many of the matchups today which also feature a high percentage of non-divisional games.  Those two facts both thin out the options of players with long batter vs pitcher histories, but there are still enough to help you put together a solid lineup for fantasy baseball tonight.

Each morning to help you find the most favorable batter vs pitcher matchups for your lineup, I list my top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups here at Fansided. I try to include a variety of teams and positions while listing the hitters with the best head-to-head record against their probable opponent. I apologize for my oversight yesterday including Marlon Byrd who is currently on the DL, but hopefully the rest of my picks were still helpful to you.  As you know if you’ve played fantasy baseball, past success doesn’t guarantee  future results, but previous head-to-head record is definitely a factor to consider when selecting your players.

There are a number of great leagues you can enter tonight using some of my top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to fill out your lineup card.

So let’s jump into the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to attack for this Friday, June 5.

10. Ryan Howard-1B-Philadelphia Phillies: While Ryan Howard hasn’t posted a great average against tonight’s starter Tim Lincecum, he still gets a spot in our top ten based on his power numbers.  In his career, Howard has taken Lincecum deep four times while going 8-33 (.242) with a double and seven RBI.

9. Chris Coghlan-OF-Chicago Cubs: As the Cubs meet the Nats, Chris Coghlan’s history from his time in Miami makes him one of the most experienced Cubs against tonight’s starter Tanner Roark.  Coghlan has had success against Roark in the past going 5-11 (.455) against him with a double.

8. Miguel Cabrera-1B-Detroit Tigers: The Tigers have fallen on hard times losing seven in a row to the Angels and Athletics.  Tonight, they’ll take on their division foes from Chicago as they look to turn things back around.  Cabrera could be a big part of that as he faces Jose Quintana who he has gone 9-25 (.360) against in the past with two doubles, a home run, and four RBI.  He’s not the only Detroit player on the list, but he’s an option to consider if you can afford him in tonight’s matchup.
