The James Bond International Fan Club

The title really says it all: it´s a fan club for everyone! Founded in 1979 and run by experts on the subject, the ‘JBIFC’ is the oldest and most experienced Bond fan club with members in over 40 countries. And if that isnt´t enough to make you join, you will be delighted to hear that membership is FREE! Founded 1996 in Zurich, the Swiss James Bond Club has been a household name in Europe for nearly two decades. It´s members profit from regular fan meetings in which they can socialize and exchange opinions about James Bond, the superb annual Club magazine “Casino Royale”, official website as well as special events where they can occasionally meet stars from the Bond films. Not only does this club unite many distinguished experts on the subject of James Bond, it also has a Bond Girl as a patron: Caroline Munro (Naomi in ‘THE SPY WHO LOVED ME’). The long history of the club has made it play an essential part both nationally and internationally.

Founded in April 2014, the German James Bond Club may well be the youngest in this list but its full throttle rise has earned it a good reputation already. Germany’s Bond expert elite can be found on both executive level as well as the list of members. While the official website serves as a platform for attracting new members, the Facebook presence is very strong with a club page and a member group. The club has already proven to be quite professional in organizing location tours as well as film screenings. Their annual magazine “Gunbarrel” is full of interesting stories and first-hand reports contributed by staff writers and members combined. The JBCD has two honorary members in actress Nikki van der Zyl and production designer Sir Ken Adam as well as Götz Otto (Stamper in ‘TOMORROW NEVER DIES’) as a regular member.

Since 1997, the Club James Bond France has accumulated over 250 members from various countries and is under the esteemed patronage of Sir Roger Moore and Maryam D´Abo. Not only does this club share partnerships with companies like Bollinger Champagne or Sony Pictures Releasing France, it is an experienced pioneer in the Bond Fandom and also the publisher of two glossy magazines – “Le Bond” & “Archives 007”. The encyclopedic club website is one of the most visited Bond sites on the Internet. As the only Bond club to do so, the CJBF offers two membership types.

Although not a real fan club in the typical sense, the James Bond Club Nederland, founded in 2006, must be mentioned because of its splendid color magazine “Bondesque” which can be ordered by anyone. Additionally, the official website as well as the Facebook page feature up to date news from the world of James Bond in Dutch language.
