Odell Beckham Jr. might be out until training camp with hamstring injury
New York Giants’ star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been fighting a nagging hamstring injury and will likely be out until training camp.
Taking the league by storm last year, rookie wide out Odell Beckham Jr. helped lead the New York Giants to a few wins and a slew of highlights. However, the young star could be starting the 2015 season recovering from a similar injury that caused him to miss four games in 2014.

Beckham, the newest NFL star who has been chosen to grace the cover of Madden 2016, could be suffering somewhat of a ‘Madden curse’ to start the 2015 campaign, although it’s only June.
According to reports, Beckham sat out all last week with a sore left hamstring — opposite of the one that kept him out during training camp and the first four games of his rookie campaign. It is possible that with the injury to his right leg last season, Beckham began to favor his left leg and, in turn, caused the weakening of his opposite hamstring.
NFL Network reporter Kimberly Jones reported on Monday that Beckham’s return would be taken slowly by the organization in an effort to avoid any setbacks.
Last year, Beckham Jr. racked up 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in a shortened season, becoming a Pro Bowler and the 2014 NFL Rookie of the Year. It took him a mere 12 games to make a name for himself and become one of the top-five receivers in the league.
There’s a bright future ahead for Beckham Jr., and that is exactly why the Giants are going to be patient with his return. There is a reason the organization chose him No. 12 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, and it is going to do everything possible to keep him healthy.
Surely Beckham Jr. is itching to get back to the practice field and compete in OTAs, but it seems like the Giants are going to rest him until training camp starts on July 21.
Smart move by an organization looking to build for the future around their star wideout. Victor Cruz is another wideout looking to get healthy before he joins the Giants at training camp, and when both are 100% New York should be a force on the offensive side of the ball.
Let’s hope this is nothing too serious for a promising young star.
