Klay Thompson went off in Game 2 of the NBA Finals for his Golden State Warriors, scoring 34 points in a 95-93 overtime loss. Unfortunately, the effort has taken an apparent toll on the All-Star shooting guard. Thompson was seen getting off the team bus at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland before Game 3 with a heavily wrapped knee and a limp, as can be seen in the tweet below:

The Cleveland Cavaliers are not going to have any sympathy if Thompson is compromised for the rest of this series. Cleveland has been playing without Kevin Love since the first round of the playoffs because of a season-ending shoulder injury, and then watched as All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving went down with a broken left kneecap in Game 1 of the Finals.

Thompson being injured would really put pressure on NBA MVP Stephen Curry. Curry played poorly in Game 2, having a rare off night where he shot 5-for-23 from the field including 2-for-15 outside the 3-point arc. Curry had 19 points but also missed badly at the end of the contest with an airball.

Thompson has been dinged up in the playoffs, dealing with a concussion after getting kneed in the head against the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Thompson was diagnosed with a concussion but did not miss any time due to Golden State winning the series that night.
