The NBA Finals are through three games, and the Cavaliers vs. Warriors series is much more than we bargained for.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost Kyrie Irving in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, it looked like things were going to get out of hand quickly. That didn’t happen though, as the Cavaliers bounced back in a big way in Game 2 and came out balling in Game 3 to make this a series we didn’t think we’d get.

There was the hope that the Cavaliers vs. Warriors NBA Finals series was going to be competitive, but without Kyrie Irving part of the equation that was hard to fathom. But LeBron James, J.R. Smith and Matthew Dellavedova all stepped up and have made this a series we didn’t know we’d be getting.

After his rousing Game 2 performance, LeBron James let the Warriors know very early on that this wouldn’t be a game he lets get away.

That was a theme that continued throughout the night, as LeBron James was his usually nasty self on both ends of the floor. Things weren’t always peachy though, as Iman Shumpert gave Cavaliers fans a serious scare when he got his arm caught in a screen by Draymond Green for Steph Curry.

Shumpert left the game and headed to the locker room but eventually returned. When he did, he made sure to make the Warriors pay for sending him off earlier.

It was basically Cleveland’s game to lose early on as they were hitting all of their shots and making the Warriors look foolish. At one point in the second half, the Cavaliers went on a tear that put the Warriors in a 17-point hole.

Cleveland didn’t win the game in three quarters though, as the Warriors have made it to the NBA Finals thanks to the runs they go on and they went on one of those patent offensive surges late in the contest. It made the Cavaliers sweat and almost fully erased the 17-point lead the Cavaliers had amassed.

But just when you think the Cavaliers are going to let the game slip away, Matthew Dellavedova steps up to play the most improbable NBA Finals hero ever. When Cleveland needed a play late in the game, Delly was there to deliver time and time again.
