Stone Cold Steve Austin shoots down potential WrestleMania 32 match

While one of his podcasts got everyone excited recently, don’t look for Stone Cold Steve Austin to be getting in the ring against Brock Lesnar

Last Monday night following WWE RAW, Stone Cold Steve Austin held one of his podcasts on the WWE Network with his awesome guest, Paul Heyman. While they covered some pretty awesome subjects, when it was all over people were only talking about one thing, and that was the challenge that Heyman laid out for Austin to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas. Austin even cut one amazing promo on it all.

Well, unfortunately, it looks as if we might not be getting the match we’d all like to see between Austin and Lesnar.

Before the most recent edition of his podcast, Austin addressed all the attention that the potential bout ahs been getting, and among other things that he said, he pretty much shot it down from taking place.

"So at WrestleMania 32, I don’t believe you’re going to be seeing Brock Lesnar and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in the same ring. So it was wasn’t my intention to book the territory, or to spin a match or to sell a match, so I just wanted to make that clear to everybody. And I’ll tell you what, the people that have followed my career from Day 1 or from whatever, follow it to this day, have been so good to me and have been to hell and back with me. So, wasn’t trying to spin anything up. Don’t want to sell a match. Not trying to book a match."

While it was pretty fun to think about, when you get right down to it, we should have known that it wouldn’t be happening. With Austin having to retire due to neck injuries in the first place, a match with Lesnar during his first bout back probably would not have been the safest move in the world.

Now, of course, this doesn’t mean that we still might not see Austin in the ring in some capacity in Dallas, but it won’t be against Brock Lesnar.
