10 most miserable NFL fanbases

San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers just barely make the list, but here they are. They’re here for one reason and one reason only—they very well might be the Los Angeles Chargers shortly.
Jeff Siniard of SBNation’s Bolts from the Blue put together a timeline of the slow and painful disintegration of the situation in San Diego, and it’s a tough read for a guy who lived in L.A. for many years and took his oldest son to that boy’s first football game down in San Diego (that’d be me in case the preceding paragraph was unclear). The Chargers feel like they should stay in San Diego, although they originated in the American Football League up north in Los Angeles back in 1960.
They only stayed there one year, though, so it’s not the same as when the Raiders and Rams moved. L.A. didn’t notice the end of the Chargers’ reign in their town, but San Diego will miss their team if it moves.
As Vincent Bonsignore pointed out in a Los Angeles Daily News article on June 1, the Chargers have a very good shot at getting one of a couple of potential spots in Los Angeles. With the city and team apparently 124 miles apart, it looks like Bolts fans will soon be deciding what to do with their Sundays.
The worst part of all this is that the Chargers actually look good. They have worked hard on the defense and offensive line, put together a solid secondary, added weapons for Philip Rivers (who looks better than ever) and drafted a potentially huge backfield weapon in Melvin Gordon.
Meanwhile the Kansas City Chiefs continue to be very streaky, the Denver Broncos are looking at the close of a championship window and life after Peyton Manning, and the Oakland Raiders—who could end up sharing a house with the Chargers—are rebuilding.
This team isn’t far off from the playoffs and more. Which is a heck of a time to pack the trucks and move north.
