The Tulsa Shock destroyed the Seattle Storm the other night by a score of 68-45, and are now 2-1 on the season. It was a historic win for the franchise, as they’re now above .500 for the first time in six seasons since they moved from Detroit.

Getting above .500 wasn’t the only milestone reached on Tuesday night, however. Skylar Diggins, the team’s first-round pick in 2013, and reigning Most Improved Player, has been a big part of the team’s success this season. She’s averaging 15 points and 6 assists a night, while shooting 38 percent from deep. Diggins is also the league leader in both assists and steals.

And on Tuesday night against the Storm, she scored her 1000th point. After getting fouled on a strong drive to the basket, Diggins stepped up and knocked down the first free throw to reach the milestone. It wasn’t the most exciting way to reach 1000 points, but hey, that’s how things go sometimes.

Congrats to Skylar on the impressive achievement. I’m sure it won’t be long until she’s knocking down her 2000th point.
