Welcome back to Friday Night Lights – Week 10. If you don’t already know, this has been the best place in 2015 to get your Friday starting pitcher selections for FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Contests.
These selections are tailored toward FanDuel’s pitcher scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where my recommended mid-to-low priced starting pitchers may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire for a spot start. Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for Draft Kings, but you should first understand the differences of the two site’s baseball scoring systems before plugging players in both.
Here are my best selections for FanDuel Starting Pitchers in the Friday evening slate (14 games) of June 12th contests:
Next: Shining Stars: $9,800 and up
***Shining Star
(Higher salaried pitcher that should put up big numbers to reward your investment):
Felix Hernandez (SEA) at HOU for $11,800: Hernandez (9-2, 2.51 ERA, 81 Ks in 82 1/3 IP) bounced back from that bad start on 6/1 vs. NYY to put up a 16 FP performance against TB last time out. He and the Mariners are a -160 road favorite vs, the Astros, who lead the AL in strikeouts (561), fanning a whopping 9.2 times a game. Lastly, Felix is 2-1 lifetime at Minute Maid Park with a 2-1 record, 2.35 ERA and 28 Ks in 23 IP in 4 career starts.

Honorable Mention: Clayton Kershaw (LAD) at SD for $12,000: Kershaw (5-3, 3.36 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 101 Ks in 81 1/3 IP) has averaged 20 FP in his last 3 starts; PetCo Park is pitcher-friendly and the Vegas run line is 6; The Dodgers are a huge -210 road favorite vs. the Padres.
Next: Clearly Visible: $6,900 to $9,100

Clearly Visible (Mid-salary pitcher that may put up a star-worthy performance):
Hector Santiago (LAA) home vs. OAK for $7,400: Santiago is having a fine year, going 4-3 with a 2.55 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 63 Ks in 70 2/3 IP. As a -120 favorite at home, he faces the As who are 28th in batting vs. LHP (.225) with only 9 HRs in 528 AB against them. On 4/21 he dominated Oakland, picking up 17 FPs. This is a very good matchup for the price.
Honorable Mention: Alex Wood (ATL) at NYM for $7,800: Wood (4-3, 3.36 ERA) was ejected in his last start vs. PIT (7 FP thru 5 IP) and had averaged 13.2 FPPG in his last 3 starts before that; CitiField is also pitcher-friendly (Vegas run line is 7); The Mets are batting just .244 vs. LHP, 20th in the majors.
Next: In the Shadows: $6,700 and below
*In the Shadows
(Low salary bargain that could produce a decent outing thus giving you extra money to spend on bats):
Jeff Locke (PIT) home PHI for $6,900: Locke (3-3, 5.37 ERA) has been mediocre this year so far but has been much better at home with a 2-1 record and 10.4 FPPG. The Pirates are big -160 favorite at home vs. the Phillies, against whom Locke is 4-0 in 4 career starts vs. PHI with a 1.35 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 21 Ks in 26 2/3 IP.
