High-Risk Options

player. 2. Milone battled through a rough outing in his return to the rotation but was able to limit the damage allowing just two earned runs in five innings despite nine hits allowed and no strikeouts.  Milone was excellent at Triple-A before being recalled, but I don’t have the confidence to use him as a sleeper yet since he has struggled throughout his time on the Twins MLB roster.. Minnesota Twins. @ Rangers. Tommy Milone. 25

Colorado Rockies. @ Marlins. Kyle Kendrick. 24. player. 108. Kendrick had one of his best outings of the season in last week’s loss to the Marlins.  He allowed just two runs in seven innings in that outing but his ERA is still 6.16.

player. 17. Wood only lasted five innings in his last start allowing three runs on seven hits and ending a run of four straight quality starts. He only threw 88 pitches in the game but he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes between innings. He should be fresh and ready to bounce back in a favorable matchup against the Mets at home tonight. However, a couple of causes for concern: Wood has been knocked around at Turner Field (0-3, 6.00 ERA) and is 0-2 against the Mets in six career starts against them with a 4.09 ERA.  . Atlanta Braves. @ Mets. Alex Wood. 22

vs Nationals. Mike Fiers. 21. player. 76. Fiers fell to 2-6 after taking the loss on Sunday when he failed to get out of the fifth inning.  He has only pitched six innings or more in three of his last ten starts and his ERA remains over 4.00. He is a good source of strikeouts (72 in 62 innings) if you are desperate, but he definitely comes with significant risk of a blowout.. Milwaukee Brewers

player. 127. Despaigne has looked pretty good his last four times out going at least six innings and turning in three quality starts to lower his season ERA to 4.72. He has to duel Clayton Kershaw tonight, which isn’t a great position to be in even though he will be pitching at Petco which is always a plus.. San Diego Padres. vs Dodgers. Odrisamer Despaigne. 20
