  • Road Cap: 5th
  • Road Jersey: 14th

The Good: There are some great uniforms in the Bay Area, and the San Francisco Giants have a slight lead over their neighbors from Oakland in our uniform power rankings because the classic black cap with the orange interlocking SF goes on the road with the team. That same logo gives the Giants one of the best alternate jerseys in the big leagues, which the team uses on their secondary road gray uniform.

Most importantly however, the Giants were among the first teams in Major League Baseball to incorporate a throwback-style jersey, specifically their cream-colored home uniforms, as its standard look in 2000. It’s a style that several clubs have copied, and it’s improved the look of several ball clubs over the past decade and a half. The Giants also get bonus points for the orange stripes found on players’ black socks we’ve been fortunate enough to see on occasion over the years.

The Bad: The Giants always look good, even when wearing their orange alternate jersey and orange-billed cap, so there’s really not much to complain about. The only improvement I would make would be to make the SF chest logo the primary option for the road gray uniform set.
