MLB: Major League Baseball uniform power rankings
- Home Cap: 3rd
- Home Jersey: 4th
- Road Cap: 3rd
- Road Jersey: 3rd
The Good: There is so much that is right with the St. Louis Cardinals’ uniforms, it’s difficult to know where to begin. The primary red cap with the iconic StL logo is perfect, and I’m glad the Cardinals wear it on the road just as much now as they wear their navy blue alternate. And while I’ve let it be known that I prefer a standard cap, it’s worth noting that the navy blue cap dates back to 1940.
St. Louis also made a smart move on the alternate front when they introduced a throwback-ish cream uniform in 2013, which they wear at home on Saturdays. Admittedly, it’s a little odd that the jersey says “St. Louis” on the front since it’s worn at home, the style itself is terrific. Also, the Cardinals get bonus points because they were one of the early pioneers of the current striped socks trend in 2000, styled after the stirrups the club wore in the 1950s and 1960s.
The Bad: There are four Major League Baseball teams that have essentially perfect uniforms, and the Cardinals are one of them. I personally don’t care for the bird on bat navy blue Sunday alternate cap compared to the StL, it’s not bad at all.
Next: 3. Boston Red Sox
