Now that those preliminaries are out of the way, let’s jump into the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups for this Sunday, June 14.
10. Brayan Pena-C-Cincinnati Reds: Catcher can be one of the trickiest spots to fill on your roster each day, but there are two options I like for today that lead off this list. The first is Reds backstop Brayan Pena who is 8-22 (.364) with a double and four RBI in his career of Cubs ace Jon Lester who is expected to start the series finale tonight on Sunday Night Baseball.
9. Nick Hundley-C-Colorado Rockies: Colorado has dropped four in a row and will look to avoid a four-game sweep in Miami as they take on Dan Haren today in their series finale against the Fish. One hitter who often gets overlooked in the Rockies lineup but can give you good value today is Nick Hundley. Hundley is 11-31 (.355) in his career against Haren including three doubles, and he’ll look to continue that success this afternoon in Miami.
8. Ben Revere-OF-Philadelphia Phillies: Revere and the Phillies are also trying to avoid the sweep as they face the Pirates in Pittsburgh. They’ll take on veteran A.J. Burnett tonight who Revere has gone 5-10 (.500) against in his career including a double.
