Vanderbilt’s Jeren Kendall hits first College World Series walk-off HR since 2009 (Video)

Jeren Kendall put his Vanderbilt team on his back Monday afternoon and it resulted in something happening in the College World Series that hasn’t happened in a while
The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated Cal State Fullerton in the College World Series on Monday, and this one was not without the drama by any means. As a matter of fact, there was some history made with the way the game was won for Vanderbilt, thanks to freshman Jeren Kendall.
In the bottom of the night the defending national champions were down 3-2, but they had a runner on second with Kendall at the plate. Since there had not been a walk-off home run inside TD Ameritrade Park since the move was made a few years ago, it seemed like that dramatic happening might be out of the question.
Well, here it is: The first walk-off home run at the College World Series since the event made the move, courtesy of Jeren Kendall.
Doesn’t get much better than that for a freshman collegiate baseball player, making history on one of the biggest stage possible.
Most importantly, though, Kendall was able to keep the defending national champs from the brink of extinction.
