Although he wasn’t there all that long, Lance Stephenson felt it necessary to thank the Charlotte Hornets fans

On Monday the news broke that Lance Stephenson would once again be changing teams. The Charlotte Hornets dealt Stephenson to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes, a deal that had a lot of people scratching their heads.

The move brought an end to the long tenure of Stephenson in…wait, actually, come to think of it, the guard was only there for one year after spending the first four years of his career with the Indiana Pacers. OK, so he was there long enough to have a cup of coffee.

Still, though, following the deal, Stephenson found it necessary to send thanks to the Hornets fans for their hospitality, even though he was there for just one season.

Despite the short time spent there, this was still a pretty nice gesture by a guy that generally gets looked at as being not so kind.

After four years with the Pacers, Stephenson signed with the Hornets prior to the 2014-15 season. He played in 61 games this past year, averaging just 8.2 points per game with 4.5 rebounds; not exactly the type of player the Hornets thought they were getting.

Now, though, he’ll be surrounded by the likes of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, meaning he won’t have to shoulder a lot of the load. He might be able to settle back into the nice role that he played in Indiana of supporter.
