5. LeBron deserves better

Don’t take this as me calling David Blatt a bad coach, because his six international coach of the year awards say otherwise, but he’s not ready to be leading a professional franchise in the NBA with a Hall of Famer on the roster.

Although James hasn’t exactly been led by the best possible head coaches in the past — Mike Brown, Erik Spoelstra and now Blatt — he still deserves a guy who has been there before. There were plenty of available targets in the summer of 2014 for the position, but the team opted to go the unconventional route despite James not really having much of a say.

James is looking to win a NBA title in Cleveland and if the Cavs’ front office thinks that they will do just that with Blatt leading the way, they must be a little out of touch with the times.

It’s hard to be respected as a head coach in the NBA, but there are plenty who have made a name for themselves that could have been on LeBron’s wish list last year. However, guys like George Karl and Steve Kerr, although he was also inexperienced, went to other franchises — and one is now a champion.

LeBron deserves a better coach. Bottom line.
