Now that the dust has settled and reality is staring to set in, Cleveland fans can slowly stop focusing on a season that fell just short and instead spin forward towards what lies ahead. On Thursday morning, the Cavaliers tweeted out a video featuring most of the superstars from this past year thanking fans for their continued support.
Dear fans,

From a year-to-date perspective, it has been one wild ride for the franchise and its fans. In 365 days the team has ridden the waves of the David Blatt signing, an Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker draft debate, LeBron’s return home, the Kevin Love trade, the team’s early-season struggles/midseason trade and roster shakeup/late-season surge, season-ending injuries to Anderson Varejão, Love and Kyrie Irving, LeBron’s Sisyphean NBA Finals performance and the bitter taste of yet another title falling just out of reach.
Talk about a whirlwind.
However, a 20-win improvement and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2010 (and finals since ’07) should be enough for fans to feel good about the season that was. This time last June there was optimism, but for a whole different reason (more like the drunken, hopeful variety). Cleveland’s thank you video hit its mark perfectly: Sure the finish sucked, but the ride to get there was exhilarating.
