The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Lance Stephenson this week, which means Jamal Crawford’s time with the team might be nearing an end.

When the Los Angeles Clippers were bounced out of the postseason by the Houston Rockets in rather stunning fashion, attention shifted to what went wrong and how it could be fixed. A lot of talk immediately centered on DeAndre Jordan and his pending free agency, but there were other moves in the mix that ended up being more intriguing.
Doc Rivers needed to find solutions for the problems that plagued the Clippers in the postseason — and his solution was apparently Lance Stephenson. While it was a controversial move at best to acquire Stephenson, there are more moves on the horizon that will act as a ripple effect of sorts.
According to Arash Markazi of ESPNLosAngeles.com, the Clippers are exploring trade options for Jamal Crawford following the acquisition of Lance Stephenson this week.
Crawford may not be in the prime of his career, as he’s been around the NBA for years now, but he’s still more than serviceable. He was the Sixth Man of the Year last season and he followed that up by nicely contributing to a championship contender.
He’s up there in age though and his production dipped from where it was in 2013-14 — a case of concern that makes him expendable. The question of whether he’s better or worse than Lance Stephenson is almost irrelevant at this point, as the Clippers have both but will likely only keep one.
Since Stephenson is the latest addition, it’s not going to be him.
Crawford could end up with the Denver Nuggets, as Markazi notes a possible trade could involved Crawford and C.J. Wilcox being moved for forward Wilson Chandler. That’s a move that gives the Clippers another veteran body, but one who will fill in holes rather than create a logjam like is the current case at the two.
