My selections are tailored toward DraftKings scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where some of my recommended players may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire. Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences between each baseball scoring system before plugging players in both.

Here are my best picks for DraftKings lineups in the full slate of MLB Games on Friday, June 19th. The early evening slate (15 MLB games) starts at 7:05 p.m. The late evening only slate (4 games) starts at 9:35 p.m.

Good Luck!

Next: Early Pitchers

Jun 13, 2015; St. Louis, MO, USA; St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Tyler Lyons (70) pitches against the Kansas City Royals at Busch Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Early Pitchers:

Tyler Lyons (STL) at PHI for $6,800: Lyons has been fairly effective filling in for injured Cardinals starters and his coming off a 20.9 FP performance (at $5,300) on 6/13 vs. KC. Although not pitching late into games, Lyons has been throwing a lot of strikeouts in 2015, with 56 Ks in 48 1/3 IP at AAA and 23 Ks in 21 IP with the big league club. Against the worst team and offense in the majors, getting a SP for this price is a steal as the Cards are a huge  -170 road favorite against the Phillies today.

Chris Sale (CWS) home vs. TEX for $11,900: Sale has been his usual dominant self in 2015 going 6-3 with a 3.01 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and an eye-popping 105 Ks in 80 2/3 IP. Averaging 25.9 FPPG, gets to pitch at home vs. TEX, against whom he is 4-2 lifetime with a 3.89 ERA and 9.4 K9 ratio in 10 starts. With the White Sox a big  -170 favorite, the star lefty is an extremely safe bet to get you 25+ FP today.

  • Sonny Gray (OAK) home vs. LAA for $10,100: Gray (8-3, 1.60 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 88 Ks in 95 2/3 IP) is having an outstanding season for Oakland and is averaging a stellar 23.9 FPPG. He faces an Angel squad tonight that he dominated last time out, earning a win, 36.3 FP, and striking out 9 while allowing a lone unearned run and only 5 hits in 7 2/3 IP. Taking the mound for the recently hot As at home as a  -165  favorite against these same Angels, it’s hard to see why the consistent young star should not be able to put up another great performance.

Mike Bolsinger (LAD) home vs. SF for $7,400: The 27 year-old Dodger righty has pitched very well this season with a 4-1 record, 2.25 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 43 Ks in 48 IP. He faces a Giant squad tonight that he faired well against in a no-decision on 4/23 with a run allowed in 5 2/3 IP.  He is more stretched out now and pitches at home for the Dodgers tonight in pitcher-friendly Dodger Stadium as a solid -155 favorite. For this price, Bolsinger is a steal and could easily get you 20+ FP.

  • 3B Josh Donaldson (TOR) home vs. BAL for $4,900: Donaldson is having a great season with a .305 BA, 17 HR, 45 RBI, and 9.8 FPPG. He faces Mike Wright (10 ER, 18 H/BB in last 2 starts in 9 IP) for the first time and is at Rogers Centre which is 9th in the league in Park Factor HRs at 1.12. Additionally, you may want to go with a stack around Donaldson as the Blue Jays are hot (winning 13 of 15) and the Vegas total line in high at 9.5 runs.

OF Denard Span (WAS) home vs. PIT (Burnett) for $4,200: The Nationals lead-off hitter is playing well after coming off the DL. In 2015, Span has hit .307 with 29 R, 5 HR, 20 RBI, and 7 SBs in just 46 games. He is hitting .326 (15 for 46) lifetime vs. Burnett with 5 SB and will be playing in Nationals Park. Although Burnett has been great this year, Span’s penchant for SBs and runs scored make him a smart play in the DK scoring system tonight in a game where the teams may have to manufacture offense.

    Next: Late Hitters

Jun 14, 2015; Anaheim, CA, USA; Oakland Athletics designated hitter Ben Zobrist (18) scores in the sixth inning against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim The Athletics defeated the Angels 8-1. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Late Hitters (These hitters can also be used in the Early Evening contests):

2B/3B Aaron Hill (ARZ) home vs. SD (Shields) for $3,100: The veteran Diamondback has a good matchup tonight vs. Shields, whom he is 10 for 36 against with 4 HRs lifetime. He will be batting near the top of the lineup tonight at Chase Field, which is a hitter’s park. Hill’s $3,100 salary is very affordable and should be plugged in around your main hitter stack.

2B/OF Ben Zobrist (OAK) home vs. LAA (Shoemaker) for $4,000: Zobrist has seemed put his early season woes behind him and is now getting hot, averaging 20 FPPG in his last 4 starts.  The switching Zobrist will likely be batting cleanup against the Angels at home facing Garrett Richards against whom he is 4 for 6.
