2. Adrian Beltre — Current Hits: 2,657

One name that consistently flies under the radar, but has been one of the most consistent players during his career, is Adrian Beltre. A career .284 hitter, Beltre has 400+ home runs as well as 1,400+ RBI. He also has a great shot at 3,000 hits.

Beltre is 36 years old, which isn’t too old by baseball standards, and could very well play three or four more years if not longer because of his durability over at third base for several years. Currently sitting at 2,657 hits, Beltre is 343 hits away from accomplishing the milestone.

This season, Beltre has 53 hits and is on pace to finish with around 130 or so hits, which would put him past 2,700 at the end of the year, and needing 250+ hits or so to reach the feat.

If he plays to age 38 or 39 and can stay healthy, Beltre should have no problem at all reaching 3,000 hits. His career has taken off in his later years with the Texas Rangers organization, and there’s no reason at all he shouldn’t get to 3,000.

It would be a fitting end to a fitting career for Beltre.
