USMNT roster for Gold Cup unveiled

The United States men’s national team has unveiled their roster for the 2015 Gold Cup tournament.

The United States women’s national team is getting all the attention from soccer fans as they pursue their third Women’s World Cup title. Shortly after the conclusion of that tournament the men’s national team will take the field competing in the Gold Cup this summer.

Ahead of the tournament, head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has unveiled his roster and it features a lot of the notable names from the first team, fixtures of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Stars Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley will all be in the squad for the tournament.

The notable names that got trimmed off the 35-man provisional roster are primarily defensive, DaMarcus Beasley, Brek Shea and Matt Besler. Young forward Jordan Morris, who has impressed this year by scoring a goal against Mexico in a friendly, will also be left at home.
