Top Ten Shooting Guards For 2015-2016

We now roll on to the top ten shooting guards for the 2015-2106 season. So far we have broken down the centers, power forwards, and small forwards. We will end up this set of posts with the top ten point guards to release tomorrow. I put this list together to serve as an early preview for the 2015-2016 season. This will help those of us in keeper and dynasty leagues as you make trades over the season.

Dwyane Wade. 10. player. 110. If you have ever followed my posts you will know that I am not a Dwyane Wade fan. I could possibly be a bit too low on him here, but He is certainly not getting any younger. I suspect he will continue to age and lose fantasy value through the season.. Shooting Guard. Miami Heat

The Rockets defeated the Mavericks 103-94 to win the series 4-1. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Monta Ellis. 9. player. 79. Monta Ellis had a nice season last year with the Mavericks. Ellis is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent. Where he lands for next season will determine whether or not we climbs or falls on this list.. Shooting Guard. Dallas Mavericks

38. Victor Oladipo made a lot of vast improvements in his game over the 2014-2015 season. I expect that he will continue to rise up this list and be a major contributor for the Magic moving forward.. Shooting Guard. Orlando Magic. Victor Oladipo. 8. player

Apr 21, 2015; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan (10) reacts to an officials decision in the third quarter in game two of the first round of the NBA Playoffs at Air Canada Centre. Wizards beat raptors 117 – 106. Mandatory Credit: Peter Llewellyn-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guard. Toronto Raptors. DeMar DeRozan. 7. player. 81. DeMar DeRozan is coming off of a season where he played in 60 of 82 games. Other than missing over a month’s worth of games DeRozan continued to be a high-impact fantasy player mostly for points leagues. DeRozan is still solid with cats leagues and sports a more well-rounded games than he did a few years ago, but does not shoot many three for a SG.

Utah Jazz. Gordon Hayward. 6. player. 118. Gordon Hayward has been one of my favorite up and coming players for the past few years. He is certainly filled the bill and became the player that I was expecting. Hayward has a brilliant game and should only continue to get better.. Shooting Guard

Jun 4, 2015; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) reacts after the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

5. player. 41. Ranking the SGs has been one of the tougher positions that I have ever had to do. This position is probably the most different value wise as far as from points to cats leagues. To be completely honest I expect that this list will look the most different as we approach the fall and the tip-off of the 2015-2016 season. I think that Thompson will continue to get better this year with the added experience from the playoffs.  little more consistency could really make him jump up even to the top three here.. Shooting Guard. Golden State Warriors. Klay Thompson

Apr 11, 2015; Oakland, CA, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins (22) reacts to an out-of-bounds call during action against the Golden State Warriors in the first quarter at Oracle Arena. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

86. It was a very interesting year for Andrew Wiggins. He went from being on a team with LeBron James to being shipped out to play for the Minnesota Timberwoves. We watched him go from struggling to a confident starter by the end of the season. His game should continue to improve this season.. Shooting Guard. Minnesota Timberwolves. Andrew Wiggins. 4. player

I think that maybe I just did not have the heart to move Kobe Bryant down this list just yet. But then again, I also know never to under-sell Kobe Bryant or think that he is not capable to step up to the challenge. Bryant looked good before his shoulder injury forced him out for the season. Until we see it, I won’t count Kobe Bryant out.. Shooting Guard. Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant. 3. player. 20

Shooting Guard. Chicago Bulls. Jimmy Butler. 2. player. 24. Jimmy Butler really delivered for the Bulls this past year. He has put the Bulls in a place where if they don’t offer him a max contract he will likely be headed to a new team. I would normally say that the Bulls would without question match any offer that Butler receives, but I just don’t know. As a Bulls fan I sure hope that they do.

James Harden unquestionably sits at the top of the fantasy landscape for shooting guards. As of right now there really is no one who could challenge him for the top spot of this list and will likely be a top three or five draft pick in fantasy drafts next season.. Shooting Guard. Houston Rockets. James Harden. 1. player. 169
