Previous: . Philadelphia Phillies. 30. team. 6. The Phillies finally did the sensible thing and placed Chase Utley on the 15-day DL with ankle inflammation. It’s an injury that’s been bothering the veteran since spring training and he currently sits dead-last among qualified hitters with a .179 batting average, a full 11 points worse than Stephen Drew. It’s obvious he wasn’t helping anyone, although Philly doesn’t really have a lot of options there either..

team. 76. Matt Garza may be one of the Brewers trade chips, but he hasn’t done anything to help his cause this season. He’s surrendered five or more runs in each of his last three starts and has a 5.40 ERA for the month of June. Given that is his second best month of the season, you can easily see why not too many teams are lining up for his services.. . Previous: . Milwaukee Brewers. 29

team. 82. Giancarlo has 26 home runs and 66 RBI on the season. For comparison’s sake, the rest of the Marlins have a total of 34 home runs and 192 RBI. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that this team is going nowhere until they can add some support around Stanton.. . Previous: -2th. Miami Marlins. 28

14. Red Sox pitchers have looked absolutely horrible this season, but it’s hard to determine if they are just this hittable or victims of poor luck. The team currently has the 9th highest BABIP in the game, which accounts for why their FIP is almost a half-run lower than the staff ERA, but their strand rate of 69.5% is the lowest in the game as well.. . Previous: +1st. Boston Red Sox. 27. team

team. 128. Adam LaRoche somehow left a pitcher’s park in Washington and came to a hitter’s park in Chicago and left his bat behind. He has eight home runs and 27 RBI, but is hitting nearly 34 points below his career average. That isn’t doing Jose Abreu any favors in an anemic White Sox line-up. . . Previous: -2th. Chicago White Sox. 26
