NBA Trade: Timberwolves acquire Tyus Jones from Cavaliers
By Josh Hill
The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t win the NBA Finals, but they made some moves during the NBA Draft with their trade buddies in Minnesota.
When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the NBA Finals, it was a painful experience that caused them to immediately reconfigure things in town. There are holes in Cleveland that need to be filled but the question was will those problems be fixed in the draft or in free agency?
So far it’s looking like the Cavaliers are going to lean on free agency to fix things as they won’t be keeping the No. 24 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves will be acquiring Tyus Jones from the Cavaliers for two second-round picks.
The Cavaliers basically have the Timberwolves in their back pocket, but the last time Minnesota traded for a guard from Cleveland it turned out very well. Last year Andrew Wiggins went from Cleveland to Minnesota and ned up winning the Rookie of the Year award when all was said and done.
Tyus Jones isn’t the No. 1 overall pick, but he’s from Minnesota and has a chance to go back to his hometown team and be apart of something special in making them respectable for the first time in a long time.
