My selections are tailored toward DraftKings scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where some of my recommended players may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire. Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences between each baseball scoring system before plugging players in both.

Here are my best hitter picks for DraftKings lineups in the evening slate (11 MLB Games)  on Monday, June 29th.

Good Luck!

  • 1B David Ortiz (BOS) at TOR (Dickey) for $4,200: Ortiz (.230, 11 HR, 33 RBI, 6.7 FPPG in 68 games) is facing knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (3-7, 4.88 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) against whom he is hitting .360 lifetime (9 for 25) with 3 HR. Additionally, he will be playing at Rogers Centre (10th in Park Factor HRs at 1.11) where he has an impressive career .965 OPS and 37 HRs in 437 ABs.

SS J.J. Hardy (BAL) home vs. TEX (W. Rodriguez) for 3,600: Hardy (5.3 FPPG in just 41 games due to injury) is recovering from a poor start and has hit .327 with 9 runs, 1 HR, and 9 RBI in his last 15 games. He goes up against Wandy Rodriguez (7 for 24 against with 2 HR lifetime) in a good L/R matchup in a hitter’s park. Camden Yards is 5th in Park Factor Runs and 3rd in Park Factor Home Runs.

    Outfielders:

OF Mike Trout (LAA) home vs. NYY (Sabathia) for $4,900: Trout is having another MVP-type season with a .303 BA, .970 OPS, 19 HR, and 42 RBI along with 9.8 FPPG. He faces C.C. Sabathia (4 for 11 against with a HR) who has been awful this year going 3-7 with a 5.65 ERA and 1.44 WHIP.  This is a great matchup for Trout vs. a LHP, which he is hitting .319 against this year.

OF Alejandro De Aza (BOS) at TOR (Dickey) for $3,900: De Aza has had a history a starting off strong with new teams and he has done so again with the Red Sox, hitting .278 in 18 games for Boston. He has been especially hot lately going with 3 HR and 6 RBI over his last 4 games. He faces Dickey tonight, who he holds a .364 (4 for 11) mark against. Consider starting De Aza at this very reasonable price as well as putting together a Red Sox stack.
