Major League Baseball gets started with another busy week of action with nine games on the schedule for this Monday, June 29. All the games are scheduled to take place under the lights tonight giving fantasy baseball owners a solid pool of players to pick from as lineups are put together.  To help you find the best matchups as you get your starters together, check out my top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups on the following slides.

Each morning when I put together my top 10, I focus on each hitter’s individual history against the probable pitcher they are expected to face.  While success in previous meetings doesn’t guarantee future success, it is still a good indicator that the hitter sees the pitcher well and could again produce results today.

I try to include a variety of teams and positions in each post so that the information is useful to you in as many ways as possible in your roster-building. Today, there are some nice options who are normally stuck on the fantasy fringes but today can be considered starters due to their matchup.  There are also a few bigger names who look poised for a huge game to start a new fantasy week.

If you find this information helpful and would like to make our coverage a regular part of your fantasy baseball routine, set a bookmark on the fantasy baseball hub.  You can also follow @FansidedFantasy on Twitter where I’ll tweet out links to the daily posts each morning.

If you are looking to try out a daily league fantasy baseball league today, one option to consider is FanDuel who runs daily competitions each day of the MLB season. You can get there by clicking the link in the box above or the link at the end of the post.

Let’s start the week off right with these top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups for this Monday:

10. Carlos Gomez-OF-Milwaukee Brewers: With fewer games than normal and a number of young pitchers with little track record, the overall numbers of today’s top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups are a bit lower than usual.  Gomez doesn’t have a long history against Phillies starter Sean O’Sullivan, but he has hit him extremely well going 3-3 with a pair of doubles against him in their previous meetings.

9. Jose Altuve-2B-Houston Astros: The Astros continue to be one of the biggest surprises of the season, and tonight they’ll host last year’s surprise team the Royals.  Kansas City will start Joe Blanton against Houston’s lineup which should set up well for Jose Altuve who is 5-14 (.357) with a double against Blanton.

8. Mike Trout-OF-Los Angeles Angels: The Angels and Yankees meet in Anaheim tonight as the Yankees send CC Sabathia and his 3-7 record to the mound. Look for the Angels to take advantage of a good matchup against Sabathia starting with Trout who is 4-11 (.364) with a home run and two doubles in his career against the former Yankees Ace.
