The San Antonio Spurs will meet with coveted free agent LaMarcus Aldridge on the first day of the NBA’s free agency.
Portland Trail Blazers free agent forward LaMarcus Aldridge is one of the biggest names on the market, making him one of the most coveted players this summer. Any team with cap space or a means to create it are interested in Aldridge’s services and that includes the San Antonio Spurs.
Aldridge will grant the Spurs on of the first meetings once the free agency window opens according to Marc Spears of Yahoo.

Fans of other teams shouldn’t necessarily read too much into that. Aldridge will also meet with other teams that same day, including the Dallas Mavericks who are courting another big name free agent on the same day.
Mavs have DeAndre Jordan meeting Wednesday morning, LaMarcus Aldridge that afternoon. Both in LA.

Interestingly enough, both Texas teams would see Aldridge as the future cornerstone of their franchise replacing a future Hall of Fame forward in the Spurs’ Tim Duncan and the Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki.
Aldridge has connections to Dallas and Austin, not too far from San Antonio, having grown up in Dallas and playing college basketball at the University of Texas.
A slew of other NBA teams are also in line to meet with Aldridge.
So, LaMarcus visit order again, starting Tue at 9 PDT: LAL, HOU, SA, PHO, DAL, TOR, NYK. (No need 2 meet with POR; they're already offered.)
