DeAndre Jordan is slated to meet with some of the NBA’s biggest power players when free agency kicks off on Wednesday.

DeAndre Jordan is one of the hottest names out on the NBA’s free agent market, and once the clock strike’s midnight for July 1, he figures to be a busy man. According to Brad Turner with the L.A. Times, Jordan is scheduled to meet with officials from the Knicks, Lakers and Mavericks on Wednesday, and then Clippers representatives on Thursday, July 2.

In Jordan, teams seek to acquire a hard-nosed big man who can protect the paint and score efficiently from close-range. Jordan has led the league in field goal percentage for the past three seasons, as well as rebounding for the past two seasons. He’s also averaged 2+ blocks per game for three of the past four years.

According to an ESPN report, Dallas is “the team most feared by the Clippers” to sign the durable center. Jordan is from Houston, attended college at Texas A&M, and is represented by the same agent, Dan Fegan, as Dallas swingman Chandler Parsons – the Mavericks’ big free agency acquisition last summer.

All four teams have the ability to offer Jordan a max deal – something Clippers coach Doc Rivers, earlier this spring, stated the team planned on doing – however, the Clips are the only franchise that can give Jordan a 5-year contract.
