The New York Knicks are a dumpster fire, but there are ways to put that out this summer and move towards becoming a legitimate franchise in a short amount of time.

After a dumpster fire season for the Knicks that resulted in the team not even being able to play the lottery right, this summer will be critical to how quickly New York rebounds.

They won’t be rising from the ashes in a single season, but there are moves that the Knicks can make which will begin to put them on the right path for success. Carmelo Anthony is all-in on whatever team New York puts together, unless he’s somehow traded, and Phil Jackson needs to consider how well the free agent target he’s looking at work with Melo.

So far, rumors have swirled around players that seem to be an indication that Phil doesn’t really care what Melo thinks, mostly because they’re odd fits alongside him.

But if the Knick truly want to put out the raging dumpster fire they’ve been for a few years now, there are a handful of careful moves the must make this summer.
