Robin Lopez

Big men are what the Knicks need, and Robin Lopez could end up being the guy when all is said and done. Greg Monroe is the top target to be the center of the future, but if he can’t be landed then a very decent second prize is Robin Lopez.

Here’s a pipe dream that would make New York relevant: if the Knicks can find a way to Lopez, Love and Melo in the same frontcourt, that could be dangerous to our health.

Imagine the offense that Love and Melo would create, the space they’d create, the rebounds that would be gobbled by Love and Lopez. That would be an instant turnaround for the Knicks of epic proportions, one that might actually set them on the right path.

That’s an expensive move though, and Love is likely to head back to Cleveland. Still, having Lopez and Melo in the same frontcourt is interesting, and it could result in some balance that New York hasn’t seen in years.
