Omer Asik

One outside the box addition for the Knicks could be center Omer Asik.

He’s one of the best rebounders per minute in the NBA and could be someone to come off the bench and be a true producer for the Knicks defensively. The Knicks don’t have J.R. Smith anymore to take a thousand shots a game, but there’s still a need to create second-chance buckets and Asik’s offensive rebounds could come in handy.

Defensively, he crashes the boards with the best of them and would add depth to the frontcourt and could even take starting minutes at times this season.

The only downside to Asik is he has less than zero offensive ability outside of his rebounding. He will provide no relief whatsoever on the offensive end of things, but defensively he could be a major addition for the Knicks if he can be had for a decent price.
