You could argue that the changing point of the Cleveland Cavaliers season was when they traded with the New York Knicks for J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert. Heading into the 2015-16 season as the Cavaliers look to win an NBA title, Shumpert will be back after agreeing to a large deal worth $40 million over four years.

That is just the latest in a flurry of big moves from the Cavaliers on the opening day of free agency in the NBA. The Cavaliers also agreed to terms with Kevin Love for a five-year, $110 million deal and Tristan Thompson to a deal that will pay him upward of $80 million.
That’s over $200 million spent so far in free agency by the Cavaliers on the first day, and they haven’t even signed LeBron James yet.
