Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs (4 years, $45 million)
This one might have surprised all of us the most, not because of the fact that Green is staying in San Antonio, but because most expected him to at least test the free agency waters at least a little bit. Well, that wasn’t the case, as Green agreed to a deal with the Spurs before we could all even blink on Wednesday.
The fact of the matter, though, is that this really is the best fit for Danny Green. We’ve seen it time and time again since he’s been with the organization, and this was no more evident than his amazing performance two years ago in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. That was where he proved to be one of the most viable assets to this wildly successful franchise.
San Antonio is trying to keep as much of their core intact, and bringing back Danny Green is a huge part of that. If they can secure LaMarcus Aldridge like many expect them to, then this team is going to give people fits next season.
