Rajon Rondo could be joining the Sacramento Kings in free agency, as long as they pay him this hefty sum of cash

After all that happened last season, there aren’t that many teams that are particularly interested in the services of Rajon Rondo. Well, not as many as you would think at this time last year. However, one of the teams that does have some interest in bringing him in is the Sacramento Kings, and they’ll apparently need to give him an absurd amount of money to get him.

According to SI’s Chris Mannix, for Rondo to go play with DeMarcus Cousins, George Karl and Co., they’ll basically just need to give him all the money from what cap space they have.

This is just flat-out crazy, especially for someone like Rondo who might not even stay there for longer than one year. He hasn’t made it a secret that he plans to only sign a one-year deal with someone, just so that he can show everyone that he can go back to being the dominant point guard that he used to be. From there, he’ll look to cash out as much as he can in the free agency period next year.

Overall, for the most part, Rondo just doesn’t seem like a good fit for a Sacramento franchise that right now needs to do a lot of damage control on its identity. With the recent drama between Karl, Kings management and DeMarcus Cousins, this organization doesn’t exactly have the best reputation at the moment.

$10 million for Rondo should just absolutely be out of the question.
