The starters for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game were announced on Sunday and the Kansas City Royals have four in the starting lineup for the American League. No other team in the AL has more than one starter, so it’s definitely a big coup for the boys in blue. Here’s the full list of AL starters:
Miguel Cabrera from the Tigers at first base.
Jose Altuve from the Astros at second base
Alcides Escobar from the Royals at shortstop.
Josh Donaldson from the Blue Jays at third base.
Salvador Perez of the Royals at catcher.
Mike Trout from the Angels and Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon of the Royals in the outfield.
Nelson Cruz from the Mariners will serve as the DH.
Says the Royals’ Alex Gordon: “It’s just been the support of our fans, really, over the last two years. Winning brings attention, and that’s what we’ve been doing. I think we play with a lot of energy, a lot of fun. People have noticed it.”
This will be Gordon’s third All-Star appearance. The Royals will have one more “starter” in manager Ned Yost, who will helm the AL team.
Meanwhile, Josh Donaldson received a record 14 million votes for his entrance into the All Star Game starting lineup.
Here is the list of pitchers for the AL:
AL starting pitchers:

David Price
Chris Sale
AL relievers:
Dellin Betances
Brad Boxberger
Zach Britton

Miguel Cabrera is currently on the DL for the AL starters, so the reserves list immediately becomes relevant. The reserves were announced on Monday and here is the list for the AL:
AL reserve INF:
Brock Holt
Jose Iglesias
Jason Kipnis
Manny Machado
Albert Pujols (will start for Cabrera)
Mark Teixeira
AL reserve catchers:

AL reserve OF:

AL reserve DH: Prince Fielder
Adam Jones is not sure if he will play in the All-Star Game as he says it might be a good time to let his body heal, but at the same time, he recognizes the importance of the game so he might play anyway.
The AL Final Vote candidates are:
Xander Bogaerts, RedSox
Yoenis Cespedes, Tigers
Brian Dozier, Twins
Brett Gardner, Yankees
Mike Moustakas, Royals
Fans can vote on the remaining player until Friday, July 10.
The All Star Game will be played on July 14 in Cincinnati. You can catch it on Fox at 7:30 PM ET.
