Los Angeles Angels. Mike Trout. 1. player. 102. . CF

No surprise here, as the reigning American League MVP is No. 1 on the list. If Cabrera was still healthy, however, he would be in this catbird position with Mike Trout at No. 2.

  • The Angels are still fighting for the top spot in the AL West and Trout, along with Pujols who is also on this list, can make that happen. If there is currently one guy in baseball right on whom you can count for a big hit or consistent play, it’s Trout.

Trout is on pace to have his best season in the majors, as he’s hitting .305 with 21 homers and 45 RBI. That puts him on pace for about 42 home runs and 88 RBI with a .300 average, though I wouldn’t be surprised if those RBI numbers saw a big bump in the second half of the season.

Unless something drastic happens in the American League, or the Angels fail to make the playoffs somehow, expect Trout to win his second consecutive MVP award.

Can’t really bet against this kid right now because he’s a five-tool prospect who can do it all. Along with those productive power numbers, he also has nine stolen bases. There’s a reason he’s the best young player in baseball.
