Has there been a more underrated free agent in baseball over the last couple of years than Nelson Cruz? The veteran outfielder has some people shaking their heads, and several organizations kicking themselves for passing on him.

  • Many were excited about the addition of Robinson Cano two years ago, but the Seattle Mariners have seen more success from the newest addition to the team. Cruz has been phenomenal this season, hitting .304 with 21 home runs and 50 RBI.

    After the whole PED suspension three years ago, not many teams would take a chance on Cruz. Boy, were they ever wrong.

    Since that suspension, Cruz has played for two different teams. Last year he batted .271 with 40 homers and 108 RBI for the Orioles, but this season he is on pace to break those career-highs.

    Cruz keeps proving doubters wrong with each crack of the bat.
