Oakland Athletics. Jose Canseco. 7. player. 96. . OF/DH

Jose Canseco was absolutely juiced. Well, he even wrote a book about it, calling out former teammates and opponents, claiming he knew everyone that took performance enhancing drugs. Canseco played during the steroid era, and you could tell by his body stature.

Looking like he just went to the gym and worked out nothing but arms for hours, Canseco was a mammoth of a man. There’s a reason he was so good at hitting the ball out of the park and it came in a liquid, injectable form.

Over his 17-year career, he was shuffled from team to team, likely identifying the most with the Oakland Athletics. With Oakland, he did have some of his best power seasons, hitting over 30 home runs five times and over 40 twice.

However, his best year, power-wise, came in 1998 when he hit 46 home runs with 107 RBI for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Canseco will never really be known as one of the game’s best power hitters because there will always be an asterisk next to his name, but throw him some meatballs right over the center of the plate and he will drive the ball a quarter mile.
