Even Andrea Bargnani might want to get away from the New York Knicks.
Andrea Bargnani’s tenure with the New York Knicks was met the way that most things regarding the Knicks are met with in this age: plenty of jokes and not a whole of positive results, including a number of injuries. While the Knicks—as sad as it may seem—could use a veteran presence like Bargnani on their roster on a likely cheap contract, it seems that the forward may be looking overseas for the next stop in his career. Bargnani going to Europe may not be the worst career decision for him at this point. He’s not exactly been the picture of success at any point during his nine seasons in the NBA since being the number one overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. Even though he has put up decent numbers from time to time, the overall production and addition to his team has been lackluster for Bargnani. Perhaps a stop overseas would rejuvenate his career.
If Bargnani does leave New York, that’ll be yet another position that the team will need to add talent to. Don’t be sad, Knicks fans. Even if he does leave, you’ll always have this moment:
