Home Run Derby: Sean Casey catches a foul ball from Josh Donaldson
By Jack Crosby
We got some star power in the opening moments of the Home Run Derby and it came in the form of Sean Casey
The annual MLB Home Run Derby is taking place on Monday night inside the Great American Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds. Now while the new format of the Home Run Derby might seem a little weird to some to get used to, we quickly found out that wasn’t the weirdest thing to happen in the event this year.
How can things get this weird, this fast, you ask? Well, how about former Cincinnati Reds slugger Sean Casey snagging himself a foul ball during the festivities.
Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs got things started off Monday night, bashing eight home runs. From there, it was Josh Donaldson’s turn, and after one of his swings, we got a brief appearance from Casey — who ended up getting himself a souvenir.
Now there’s something that we didn’t think that we’d see on Monday night. Here we were, just minding our own business trying to get used to this new Home Run Derby format and BOOM, there’s Sean Casey out there grabbing some foul balls.
