The Dallas Cowboys are apparently ready to call the bluff of Dez Bryant and his threat of sitting out to start the season

We’re coming to the home stretch here for the Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver Dez Bryant to come to a long-term agreement. As we know, the two sides have until Wednesday to make something happen that will keep one of the best wideouts in the game a very happy man.

As we also know, if no deal is reached then Bryant will have no problem sitting out not only training camp, but some regular season games as well. This is something that was rumored for a while, and then it was confirmed by the man himself just a few days ago. With that being the case, you have to wonder whether or not the Cowboys are afraid of being without their star wide receiver, or if they don’t believe a word that’s coming out of his mouth.

Apparently, it’s the latter.

It’s definitely a gamble to call the bluff of Bryant here. We saw last season that this Cowboys team is a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and a lot of that has to do with Bryant. Every game matters in the NFL for the most part, so being without Bryant could be detrimental to those Lombardi Trophy aspirations this year.

Whatever the case ultimately ends up being here between these two, things are about to get pretty interesting as the deadline for these two to get a deal done approaches rapidly. Will Bryant hold out or will he reluctantly take his place with the team without a long-term deal inked?
