MLB All-Star Game 2015: American League starters
By Jack Crosby
A look at the starters for the American League that will be taking the field on Tuesday night for the MLB All-Star Game
It’s time on Tuesday night to find out which league will ultimately end up with home field advantage in the World Series come October, which means that it’s time for the annual MLB All-Star Game. This year the American League has a roster that is stacked with some pretty nice talent.
Taking the mound as the starting pitcher for the American League this season will be Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros. In helping lead the Astros to being one of the best teams in all of baseball, Keuchel has compiled a record of 11-4 with a 2.23 ERA. This will be his first All-Star appearance in his career, and you can’t really ask for much more in your first appearance than taking the mound for your team.
Here’s a look at the rest of the American League roster for Tuesday night in the MLB All-Star Game.
AL Starters
C Salvador Perez, Royals
1B Miguel Cabrera, Tigers (injured, will not play)
2B Jose Altuve, Astros
SS Alcides Escobar, Royals
3B Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays (leading vote-getter overall)
OF Mike Trout, Angels
OF Lorenzo Cain, Royals
OF Alex Gordon, Royals (injured, will not play)
DH Nelson Cruz, Mariners
As you can see, the American League is in possession of the leading vote getter in the All-Star process, Josh Donaldson, who also competed in the Home Run Derby on Monday night.
Can this American League team get the job done on Tuesday night and knock off the National League?
