Colorado Rockies – Dante Bichette

Franchise Four: Andres Galarraga, Todd Helton, Larry Walker, Troy Tulowitzki

The Colorado Rockies have been an offensive team since the day they broke into the league in 1993. The thin air in Denver has made Coors Field one of the most excruciatingly hitter friendly parks and as such, the team has been the home of some drastically improved hitting from those who have called it home.

That much is evident by the inclusion of Galarraga, Helton, and Walker on this list, and to a lesser extent Tulowitzki. However, there is one name from the club’s heyday that is missing; Dante Bichette.

Bichette made stops in California and Milwaukee before he came to find himself in the cool mountain air of Colorado. He immediately made himself home as well, hitting .316/.352/.540 with 201 home runs and 826 RBI over the course of seven seasons with the Rockies. While his -120.4 defense has sapped his WAR down to just 6.6, Bichette still ranks highly among Rockies hitters in home runs (fourth) and RBI (third).

Now, does that rank him as an all-time great? Maybe not, but he’s still among the best to ever wear a Rockies uniform.
