The New England Patriots just won the Super Bowl, so they don’t need any more help, right? Wrong. The Patriots have been a tremendous team for the past 15 years, but they have never had a true top receiver outside of Randy Moss for a few seasons. While Wayne would be a great player at the end of his road, he still represents a nice weapon.

Tom Brady would surely love to have Wayne lining up opposite Brandon LaFell with Julian Edelman in the slot while Rob Gronkowski is lined up tight to the line. Gronkowski is the premiere tight end in the game and could go down as the best to ever play at his current clip, but LaFell is a middling player and Edelman is great in tight spaces, but not much for the big play.

Wayne would give New England another reliable dimension in the passing game. Brady would have someone to find on a key third and long when Edelman is knocked off his route and Gronkowski is being double-teamed off the line of scrimmage.

The Patriots lost both Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner from their secondary this offseason, along with veteran nose tackle Vince Wilfork. It stands to reason New England will need to score more points if it wants to repeat as Super Bowl champs, and bringing in Wayne would help it achieve that goal.
