LF. San Diego Padres. Justin Upton. 5. player. 127.

As one of the better young power hitters in the game of baseball today, Justin Upton surprisingly finds himself on the trade block seemingly every year. This year is no different as the 27-year-old left fielder is looking at a possible fourth new home since 2012.

  • The San Diego Padres made a move to acquire Upton this offseason as part of their plan to pick up as much talent as possible in hopes of making a strong turnaround in just one year.

However, that hasn’t been the case as the Padres are six games below .500 and 9.5 games out of first place in the NL West. It’s doubtful that this team could make a comeback in the final 70 games of the year, so selling the big money pieces is a must.

San Diego is already talking about putting James Shields on the trade block and now it’s Upton who has a .252 average with 15 homers and 49 RBI. You can bet he is a prized commodity on the market and still at a young age, Upton will make some contender very happy in a couple of weeks.

It may be surprising to see a young talent like Justin bounced around from team to team, but he’s a middle-of-the-order kind of guy that every team seems to want.
