Yes, for the first time in nearly a decade, the Detroit Tigers may, in fact, be sellers by the time the trade deadline rolls around.

It’s hard to even picture this organization getting rid of some major pieces, but Yoenis Cespedes is on a one-year deal and that may cause Detroit to send him packing in order to guarantee something in return — just in case he didn’t plan on re-signing this coming offseason.
The left fielder has had a solid season thus far, however, his power numbers are down a bit from what they are used to being as he has hit 13 home runs and driven in 52 RBI.
The two-time Home Run Derby champ narrowly missed out on an All-Star Game appearance, though, as he was one of the “final vote” contestants for the American League.
While his power seems to be slowly getting acquainted to Comerica Park, his average has perked up quite a bit since putting on the Old English “D.” Cespedes is batting a solid .292 while his previous career0high for an entire campaign was .292 during his rookie year in 2012.
It’s unclear whether Detroit is serious about “winning now” as general manager Dave Dombrowski has said because it finds itself one game under .500 for the first time all year.
If the Tigers do sell, expect it to be Yoenis.
