Sting will be involved at WWE Summerslam and it’s looking like his match will be a tag affair against Bray Wyatt.
After competing at Wrestlemania 31 for his in-ring debut in WWE, fans haven’t seen Sting back in action. There were rumors that he would be appearing at WWE Battleground this past Sunday, but those turned out to be false. What’s clear, though, is that he will be in action in some capacity at WWE Summerslam at the end of August.
With Sting already being advertised by WWE for the event in Brooklyn, NY, the only question that remains is which superstar Sting will be going up against at Summerslam. After the events at Battleground and the rumors regarding his possible appearance at Sunday’s pay-per-view, that seems to be becoming clearer as well.
The word going around last night was that, if Sting were to appear, it would have been to be involved with the Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns match. Though Sting didn’t get involved in the match, former member of the Wyatt Family Luke Harper did get involved as he took out Reigns to help Wyatt earn the win.
As reported by With Spandex, it seems as if Harper teaming up with Wyatt again indicates that Reigns will need a partner for an upcoming match at Summerslam. Putting the pieces together, that seems to mean that Sting will wind up being Reigns’ partner in a tag team match against Wyatt and Harper.
The next couple of weeks on RAW will almost surely give fans clarification on how Sting will be used at Summerslam, but him being Reigns’ partner is the most viable option at this point. How that will work out in practice is another issue considering the youth and athleticism of the other three competitors in relation to Sting. Even with that, it’ll be nice to see The Man They Call Sting back in a WWE ring for another match.
