FanDuel Picks For July 23

More from DFS

Welcome back to the best place to get fantasy sports advice across multiple sports. Today I am going to give you my best picks and choices for your FanDuel lineups that I can. My advice is based purely on mathematical and statistical analysis and I try to avoid using player biases and so forth.

NOTE: these FanDuel picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.

Here are my FanDuel Picks for July 23:

Next: FanDuel Pitcher Options

Jul 20, 2015; Atlanta, GA, USA; Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (22) watches a game against the Atlanta Braves in the fourth inning at Turner Field. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Pitcher Options:

Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers ($13,000): Obviously Kershaw has easily been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season and recently. Usually I don’t advocate using the most expensive pitcher available, but in this case I have some fears that you may not be able to outscore your opponents that choose to employ Kershaw. I realize he is expensive, and we will work hard to save you some money with our hitter options.

It is a hard spot to advocate using anyone else, but if I was going to roll the dice I would use Lance McCullers of the Houston Astros. He has been pitching pretty well and could save you enough money while getting you pitching points and beat anyone using Kershaw. It is certainly a gamble, but could pay off richly.

  • Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers ($3,800): Gonzalez has been pretty hot with the bat lately and gets a pitcher who is very comfortable with. In 21 at-bats against Bartolo Colon he has a .429 average with two home runs and three RBI. I feel pretty comfortable using him in my daily league lineups for the 23rd.

Neil Walker, Pirates ($3,000): Walker has had a pretty decent season so far this year. He is swinging the bat pretty well lately and gets a pitcher on the 23rd where he has had good success. It has only been 11 at-bats, but he holds a solid .364 average against Doug Fister.

    Next: FanDuel Outfield Hitter Options

Jul 10, 2015; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals right fielder Alex Rios (15) drives in a run with a double against the Toronto Blue Jays in the second inning at Kauffman Stadium. Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

    Outfield Hitter Options:

Alex Rios, Royals ($2,600): Rios has been decent lately and should be gaining some value in daily leagues and regular leagues as well. The last time I suggested him I believe he stole a base and got a run and was good for 4.25 fantasy points. On the 23rd he squares off with John Lackey where he owns a .300 record with five stolen bases and three RBI.

Michael Bourn, Indians ($2,200): Bourn is certainly on the decline, but in the right situations he can be a useful asset in daily fantasy leagues. I am hoping that the 23rd is that day for Bourn. The odds seem to be in his favor as he has had a .462 average against Jeff Samardzija with a few stolen bases. For this price tag you could certainly do a lot worse.

As always we thank you for stopping by and wish you FanDuelers the best of luck!
