Afternoon Lineup

SP-Noah Syndergaard-New York Mets: Syndergaard has been outstanding in his last four starts allowing a total of five runs in 29 innings while striking out 30 and walking just five. He has yet to face the Nationals in his career, but his recent run has been impressive enough to give him the start even on the road.  In his two daytime starts, “Thor” has been even more dominant going 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA in 13.1 innings.

SP-Jake Odorizzi-Tampa Bay Rays: Odorizzi was shelled in his last start by a good Toronto team who crushed him for six runs in just 4.1 innings.  Taking on the Phillies tonight, I expect Odorizzi to bounce back as he continues to work his way back from a stint on the DL with an oblique injury.  Odorizzi still has a 2.80 ERA and is a solid value at 8,300.

C-Kyle Schwarber-Chicago Cubs: Schwarber posted an incredibly impressive 40 DraftKings points last night with a pair of home runs and a double while going 4-7 against the Reds.  If he gets the start this afternoon (possibly at a different position), he definitely makes a nice play at catcher.  He’ll be widely owned, to be sure, but he has definitely made a big splash since his callup.

1B-Prince Fielder-Texas Rangers

2B-Daniel Murphy-New York Mets: Murphy is 17-53 (.321) against Jordan Zimmermann in his career with five doubles, three homers, and eight RBI. Murphy has struggled lately, though, which has brought his price way down to just 3,100.

3B-Justin Turner-Los Angeles Dodgers: Murphy’s former teammate Justin Turner has fit in well with the Dodgers and connected for his first home run of the month in LA’s 4-3 loss yesterday.  He is 18-52 (.346) this month with five doubles and five RBI, but he has hit safely in five of his last six games and should be back in the heart of the Dodgers lineup this afternoon against Julio Teheran.

SS-Jean Segura-Milwaukee Brewers: Segura is 24-56 (.429) this month with a home run which he hit last night against Cleveland. He has hit safely in nine of his last ten games and has multiple hits in each of his last two games.

OF-Michael Brantley-Cleveland Indians: Brantley is 5-14 (.357) since the break with a home run and a pair of RBI.  He takes on the struggling Kyle Lohse this afternoon and makes a solid play from the middle of the Tribe lineup.

OF-Gerardo Parra-Milwaukee Brewers: Parra continues to rake this month after going 2-4 yesterday with two triples.  He is hitting .426 (23-54) this month with four homers, ten RBI, 15 runs scored, five doubles, and two triples.  Look for him to keep it going today against Cody Anderson.

OF-Curtis Granderson-New York Mets
