NFL training camp 2015: Priming all 32 teams
Overview
The Indianapolis Colts last won the Super Bowl in 2006. They are hoping for another Lombardi Trophy to be added to the case, this time being led by fourth-year quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck has pushed his team one round further every year of his career to this point, last year reaching the AFC Championship game before a deflating loss to the New England Patriots.
In the offseason, general manager Ryan Grigson acquired talent via the free-agent market. Grigson was able to reel in running back Frank Gore, guard Todd Herremans, outside linebacker Trent Cole and receiver Andre Johnson. Additionally, Indianapolis gets Robert Mathis back after a suspension and a torn Achilles kept him out for all of 2014.
Major Battle
The secondary is a place to keep an eye on. The Colts have a fairly deep front seven, but outside of Vontae Davis, there are questions. Mike Adams is coming off his first Pro Bowl season, but he is older. Opposite of Davis will be Greg Toler, but he will be pushed by D’Joun Smith. Also, who will play in the slot? Darius Butler seems the likely candidate, but there is room for someone to emerge here.
Expectations
The Super Bowl, and nothing else. Indianapolis has loaded up on veteran players with the hope of winning right now. The Colts are built to score a ton of points provided the offensive line can hold up. All the defense needs to do is be adequate and this group should have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with such a soft schedule.
